SkinStylus™ Microneedling

Not all microneedling is equal. SkinStylus creates the controlled collagen signal your skin needs, paired with regenerative topicals for real results.

What Is SkinStylus™ Microneedling

SkinStylus™ Microneedling is a medical-grade percutaneous collagen induction treatment that uses an FDA-cleared powered pen with disposable surgical-grade stainless steel cartridges to create thousands of controlled micro-channels in the skin at provider-selected depths between 0.25mm and 2.5mm, initiating a three-phase wound-healing cascade — inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling — and creating a brief absorption window through which targeted topicals reach the dermis directly.

This is not the dermaroller you can buy online. SkinStylus™ uses 36-needle disposable cartridges, calibrated speed, and consistent depth across every pass — the kind of mechanical precision that produces real collagen response, not surface irritation.

The SkinStylus™ pen is the delivery system. The topical paired with it is what defines the result. Maintenance Bar selects between Toskani™ Cocktails, Ariessence PDGF+, and PDRN based on the skin issue you're actually treating — hydration and brightening, collagen and texture, or regeneration and inflammation control.

SkinStylus™ Topical Pairing Options

SkinStylus™ + Toskani™ Cocktails

Medical-aesthetic cocktails formulated with peptides, hyaluronic acid, vitamins, and amino acids. Toskani™ formulas target hydration, brightening, anti-aging, and skin quality — Maintenance Bar mixes up the cocktail that matches the concern your skin is presenting.

SkinStylus™ + Ariessence PDGF+

PDGF is a powerful growth factor that helps support collagen production, tissue repair, and overall skin rejuvenation. When paired with microneedling, it enhances your skin's natural healing response to improve texture, tone, fine lines, and overall skin quality.

SkinStylus™ + PDRN

PDRN is a regenerative ingredient derived from salmon DNA that helps support tissue repair, hydration, and collagen production. When paired with microneedling, it enhances your skin's healing response to improve texture, radiance, and overall skin quality.

How SkinStylus™ Microneedling Works at Maintenance Bar

01

Step 1 — Skin Assessment and Topical Selection

We'll examine your skin texture, tone, scarring, hydration, and barrier function. We'll choose the topical pairing based on what your skin needs!

02

Step 2 — Numbing

Topical numbing cream is applied 20–30 minutes before treatment. Clean, numbed skin makes the procedure comfortable and the depth consistent.

03

Step 3 — SkinStylus™ Treatment

The SkinStylus pen creates thousands of tiny, controlled injuries that signal your skin to repair itself with fresh collagen and elastin. It's essentially a workout for your skin—stimulating renewal while creating pathways for powerful regenerative ingredients to get where they're needed most.

04

Step 4 — Topical Infusion

Microneedling is only half of the equation. The microchannels created during treatment allow potent regenerative ingredients to reach deeper layers of the skin, which is why the quality of the topical can make a significant difference in your results.

05

Step 5 — Aftercare

After microneedling, your skin may look pink and feel warm for 24–48 hours, similar to a mild sunburn. Keep your skin hydrated, avoid sweating, heat, and active skincare ingredients for 24 hours, and wear SPF daily while your skin heals.

Know Before You Go

What to Expect from SkinStylus™ Microneedling at Maintenance Bar

Mild redness resembling a moderate sunburn lasts 12–24 hours for most patients. Pinpoint bleeding during treatment is normal and resolves within hours. Day 1 you look slightly flushed; day 2 most patients are back to makeup.

Initial improvement appears in 1–2 weeks as surface healing finishes. Deeper collagen remodeling continues for 4–8 weeks. Maintenance Bar recommends a series of 3–4 SkinStylus™ sessions spaced 4 weeks apart for meaningful texture, scarring, and tone improvement — followed by maintenance quarterly.

Microneedling creates the channels that stimulate collagen and allow active ingredients to penetrate deeper into the skin, while customized topicals like PDGF, PDRN, growth factors, and targeted serums help address concerns such as pigmentation, texture, fine lines, acne scarring, and hydration.

We love combining a SkinStylus treatment with neurotoxin! It's the ultimate skin refresh.

For patients with deeper scarring, significant laxity, or structural texture concerns, Maintenance Bar recommends Virtue RF — radiofrequency-enhanced microneedling — as the next-tier treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Toskani™, Ariessence PDGF+, and PDRN?

Think of Toskani™ as the customizable treatment, PDGF as the collagen builder, and PDRN as the glow booster. We select the topical based on your skin goals, whether that's brighter skin, smoother texture, stronger collagen, or all of the above.

How many SkinStylus™ sessions do I need?

You'll notice results after 1 treatment, but if you have skin goals or old acne scarring then plan on multiple treatments before going on maintenance mode. Once you're at your skin goals, we recommend doing microneedling quarterly.

Can I combine SkinStylus™ with chemical peels or other treatments?

We do not combine microneedling with a chemical peel. Our favorite combo is pairing microneedling with neurotoxin!

Is SkinStylus™ safe for darker skin tones?

Yes. SkinStylus™ creates mechanical micro-injury without targeting melanin, so Fitzpatrick I–VI patients are all candidates. This is one reason Maintenance Bar uses microneedling as a primary texture treatment for skin tones where laser-based options carry higher pigmentation risk.

Can I do SkinStylus™ if I'm pregnant or nursing?

No, we cannot treat pregnant patients due to the topical lidocaine for numbing and active ingredients in the topical serums.

Our microneedling isn't one-size-fits-all. The needles create the opportunity, but the topical does the heavy lifting—which is why we customize every treatment with targeted ingredients designed for your skin, not the patient before you.
